Meet Dr. Michael Hee, MD, PhD

Dr. Michael Hee, Harvard Medical School, UCSF Ophthalmology, MIT, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), eye surgeon

Dr. Hee graduated from Stanford University.  He completed his medical training at Harvard Medical School and his specialty training in ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco.

 

In addition, Dr. Hee received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of  Technology, where he was instrumental in the development of a new technology for high-resolution imaging of the retina and optic nerve called optical coherence tomography (OCT). 

 

Dr. Hee provides comprehensive care for a wide range of medical and surgical diseases of the eye, including small incision cataract surgery, medical, laser and surgical treatment of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and eyelid surgery. 

 

Dr. Hee enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, camping, playing tennis, and piano.  He continues to be involved in the development of new ophthalmic diagnostic and therapeutic instrumentation.

Thanks to Dr. Hee and his efficient staff for keeping my eyesight stable.  I have glaucoma, cataracts (soon to be removed), and if that were not enough, the dreaded macular degeneration – which I have had for years.  Through all of this, Dr. Hee has saved my sight.  He explains what is happening to my eyes when he examines them about every six weeks.  I appreciate the fact that I never have to wait so long in the waiting room that I feel stressed before he sees me.  I am blessed to have Pacific Eye Specialist as my go-to place for eye problems.
