Cataract Surgery Information

cataract-surgery-eye-doctor-san-francisco.jpgThe Cataract Consultation at Pacific Eye Specialists is designed to be an information-gathering process…both for our staff and for you. We want to determine whether cataracts are to blame for your vision problems and if they are severe enough to warrant removal. Sometimes it is more prudent to wait for a while to pursue cataract surgery, but some patients choose to improve their vision quality as soon as possible.

During the Consultation you will meet our front desk staff, our technicians and the doctor who will perform your surgery if that is the right course of action. We want you to feel 100% comfortable at our office and 100% confident that you have all of the information necessary to make an informed decision about your vision.

Our Cataract Consultation typically takes 60-90 minutes and involves:

  • Multiple scans of your eye to determine your exact vision characteristics
  • Overview of your medical history
  • Identification of any co-existing eye diseases or conditions

This is also the perfect time for you to ask our staff questions, like:

  • What is the cost of cataract surgery?
  • How many cataract procedures has the doctor performed?
  • What medical training does he/she have?
  • What types of cataract surgery technologies will be used?
  • How will the cataract procedure be performed?
  • What are the risks of cataract surgery?
  • How long will the cataract surgery recovery be?

We will provide you with educational materials to take home so you can discuss the options with your loved ones. Schedule your Cataract Consultation today.
